I want to see who people think the best BEMANI musician is.
I vote for the ULTIMATE GOD OF BEMANI, LORD ABOVE ALL ELSE, CREATOR OF BeForU AND TËЯRA, NAOKI MAEDA.

Who do you chose?

Naoki is god, I won't deny that but my tie is between the triple threat of kors k, L.E.D. and DJ Yoshitaka.

Disclaimer: They're my top three anyway. In any case, it is hard to determine who is the "best" Bemani musician since most of them do specialise in highly differing fields so it's really down to a matter of personal preference.

Osamu Kubota. A lot of his stuff are good. Perplexity is somehow growing on me.

...or maybe kors k as well. I couldn't say anything bad about him.

Reasons why some others aren't [lol troll mode]:
Asaki helped make Pink Capsule stuff.
wac made songs that sound like generic GFDM J-Pop cover shit.
Yoshitaka made MAX LOVE and LOVE BAZOOKA.
Tatsh has been making a lot of J-Pop.
TaQ's songs have nearly the same structure.
Some of D-crew's stuff aren't that good.
Izumi made a few shitty songs. I'm looking at you, Taratta Dance.
NAOKI made a lot of shitty songs, although majority of his stuff are good.
Almost all of Sota's songs sound the same.
Ryu* made Do it!! Do it!!.
CHIP'N'RIDDIM isn't that good, music-wise.
Most of jun's stuff are bad, though some of them tend to get stuck in my head.
DAJI made soldier's waltz.
S.S.D.FANTASICA collaborated with the LOVE BAZOOKA vocalist.
Nekomata Master made a boring song in GOLD AC. I forget its title; there are a lot of songs in GOLD with the word "smile" in it.
Some of TOMOSUKE's songs are mediocre.
dj TAKA is part of colors.

Anyway for me it has to be a tie between:
jun, Ryu☆ and NAOKI.
jun because she's the best person ever.
Ryu because all of his stuff is great and [usually] energetic and makes me wanna dance.
NAOKI because he's NAOKI and he's one of the greatest music composers ever.

First, do you mean who I think the best musician is or just my favorite?  To me, it's just a bit different, heh.

Best musician in terms of musical composition: Osamu Kubota, wac, and TOMOSUKE
Best musician in terms of skill with some instrument: The above 2 plus Izumi, Sota, TaQ and many more

My favorite: A three way tie between kors k, StripE, and teranoid Riyu duck (Ryu* and NAOKI aren't too far behind actually)

@t7r: what happened to the whole Asaki thing?  or maybe your favorite isn't who you'd consider the "best musician" as well?

My favorite isn't necessarily the best musician. Asaki would be the third in my list. He could've been first if he didn't compose the Pink Capsule crap.

kors k and Sota will probably always be my favorites.  Cheesy

Best?  Hmm.  NAOKI probably.  I think the only reason that some of his songs would sound bad is due to overexposure.

Since were going for the best musician on the whole and not your favourite (I misunderstood  Riyu Jaeger), I've gotta say It's between dj TAKA and NAOKI.

I agree. TAKA and NAOKI rule BEMANI, nut NAOKI ruled above all else.

Okay, I thought about it.

If we are going soley on production quality, then it has to be kors k because I have yet to hear a badly produced song by him. (Apparently, he composed Requiem on Disconation when he was freaking 16.)

If we go strictly musical value, then it's probably wac or Tomosuke because they both show such versatility and technique with many classical instruments and even then, their structures, chord buildups and progression show a really good skill in doing so.

When it comes to utilizing vocals well, I'd have to give it to Yoshitaka because (with the possible exception of GOLD RUSH because it's meant to be a gag track) he really knows how to manipulate vocals well (Captivate ~Sabaki~ is a good example of this, same with Photongenic (DJ YOSHITAKA REMIX))

Each artist has their own specialties, so I would find it hard to pick out one "Best" one. :/

Very hard for me to decide who is the best. My ultimate judgement on an artist is their versatility, and it's a tie between Naoki, Tomosuke, and dj TAKA

BEMANI has great artist, but realistically , it's between Naoki and TAKA because of all their works. Naoki justs has the whole package.

So you're saying the best Bemani musician should be based on how much they put out? Add wac to that list, add Mutsuhiko Izumi. wac pretty much composes a LOT of stuff for pop'n under seven thousand aliases and Mutsuhiko Izumi is pretty much the composing behemoth of GFdm.
