This sounds like a really amateur fan-cover made in sound recorder with a $10 computer mic. I mean, I assume it's vocoded to sound like that, but why would anyone WANT it to sound like that?

DDR FFP's stepchart looks fun, but the vocals (Is Allison Wade the vocalist for this cover ?) sounds terrible.

After listening to it for a second time, I find something peculiar.

The BGM of FREE is actually the BGM of begin (GFdm version)!

What was he thinking? What were they thinking?

I actually like FREE, I don't think its as terrible as BREAK DOWN cover. But of course the original Freedom is the best.

Actually, I think Riyu once said that Freedom was a new version of begin.  Don't have any source, so don't take my word for it. 

Also, if he hadn't vocoded the vocals like that, and used Alison Wade, TAYA or maybe frances maya it wouldn't have sounded so bad. 

Yeah, I remember reading that somewhere as well...these two songs have the exact same chord progressions anyhow.  That's why my friend calls Freedom the love child of 1/6 billionth and Begin, heehee.  And wow, come to think about it, that was pretty clever to use that 1/6 billionth theme in Freedom since I highly doubt Naoki was even thinking about 1/6 billionth when making Begin.

That is not the issue here.

The issue here is that FREE is just as follows:

Take "begin (GFdm version)" MINUS Riyu's vocals PLUS Some b****'s voice = "FREE by NM Presents"

It's just plain butchering and mutilating. To a certain extent, INDIRECT PLAGIARISM!

... You can't really go so far as to call that plagiarism, when either way it's Naoki's song. If they took Riyu's lyrics without crediting her somehow, then it might be plagiarism, but they changed the words and just took the tune -- which is Naoki's to begin with.

Even if it weren't Naoki's song, people do covers all the time. is new-BeForU plagiarizing Denki Groove with Shangri-La?

The whole thing kinda sucks either way, since I want BeForU to be included. But I understand they probably did it to save money, since Konami is a business after all.

(I am still holding out hope that maybe groups like BeForU will come back into fashion and maybe they'll go back to Konami. ;~; or Noria or Sayaka or one of the solo people. But I recognize that's not terribly likely.)

Guys, just imagine FREE and the other remixes from DDR FFP in future DDR AC versions.
